Senator John McCain told Face the Nation today that Donald Trumps rhetoric is turning Muslims against the United States.
McCain defended nearly every single Muslim as practicing an honorable religion, despite multiple surveys showing significant support for ISIS and terrorism. McCain also hit 2016 candidates for criticizing the Syrian refugees.
The Hill reported:
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said Donald Trumps divisive rhetoric is only serving to turn the international Muslim community against the U.S.
Oh, I think it has an interesting effect of turning Muslims all over the world against the United States of America, which is 99.44 percent people who practice an honorable religion, the Arizona senator said of Trump on CBSs Face the Nation on Sunday.
McCain, a former GOP presidential nominee, also accused 2016 hopefuls of harping on the Syrian refugee crisis, while the U.S. faces much more substantial threats.
99.4%? Really, Senator?
Well, a new poll by the Pew Research Center reveals that up to 14 percent of Muslims have a favorable opinion of ISIS, and upwards of 62 percent dont know whether or not they have a favorable opinion of the Islamist group.
In Pakistan, a nuclear weapons state, only 28 percent of the public view ISIS unfavorably. By this overwhelming degree of either tacit support or tolerance for ISIS in the country, ISIS should be considered as a potential proxy nuclear weapons power via its linkages and support within Pakistan.
… For these 11 nation-states alone, the favorability ratings for ISIS reported by the Pew poll are indicative of at least 63 million ISIS supporters and potentially upwards of 287 million if the undecided are included in the calculation.
Unbelievable. But not surprising coming from a man who in 2013 said we should arm ISIS (before claiming he slipped), and has enabled every Arab Spring misadventure from Egypt to Libya of his good friend Barack Obama.
Here are some other good friends of McCain…Muslim extremists in Syria, some of whom are now fighting with ISIS:
And also no surprise McCain would defend Syrian refugees like his BFF George Soros, who helped engineer the Muslim invasion of Europe.
By the way, Arizona…McCain is up for re-election next year. The primary vote is August 30, 2016…which cannot come too soon.
